it is our great pleasure to announce the third International Teaching Staff Week of the Simulation Science Center Clausthal-Göttingen. The event will take place online from March 21 to 25, 2022. During the Teaching Staff Week, lecturers from abroad will offer courses in the field of simulation for material sciences. This year, the lecturers and topics are as follows:

I would like to remind you of the the second interdisciplinary international conference about Simulation Science from 8th to 10th May 2019 in Clausthal (Germany).

The workshop considers the broad area of modeling & simulation with a focus on simulation and optimization in networks, simulation of materials and distributed simulations.

 MD05: Plasticity Across the Scales - From Microstructure Changes to Bulk Mechanical Behavior

The Simulation Science Center Clausthal/Göttingen offers a PhD position for 3 years in the area of Computational Material Sciences with the research topic „Pressure induced phase transition and plasticity in ironcarbon alloys“. Tasks include research in material science, in particular atomistic simulations of iron-carbon systems under high pressure to evaluate the influence of carbon on strength and material embrittlement.
