A new postdoc position is available

A new postdoctoral position in continuum mechanics is available at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Candidates should have a strong background in physics and/or theoretical mechanics, as well as experience with analytical and computational methods for solving partial differential equations. Possible projects include the mechanics of frictional sliding, the mechanics of biomaterials, the mechanics of glassy materials and dislocation-mediated plasticity. Highly motivated candidates are requested to send their CV, publications list and statement of research interests to Dr. Eran Bouchbinder eran.bouchbinder@weizmann.ac.il

ICoBT 2011 - The International Conference on BioTribology - 18-21 September 2011 - Abstract submissions now open

ICoBT 2011 is a new conference which will be held at Imperial College London from 18-21 September 2011. Contributions are welcomed from scientists, engineers and clinicians working in the fields of orthopaedic surgery, dentistry, biomechanics, biomaterials, cosmetic chemistry, biophysics and biomimetics. Abstract submissions are now open!

Although this is one of the most exciting research areas in Tribology, there is at present no dedicated Biotribology Conference. Biotribology embraces a wide range of research topics from artificial joint, implants, to hair conditioners and soft-tissue friction.

Teeth Implant Finite Element Software

I am looking for a Finite Element software for Teeth and Implant modeling and analysis. Is there a special FE software for this, or which of these softwares can solve the proplem.

Abaqus, ProEng, Ansys, catia, solidworks, or anyother software..

please, if you know about solving this problem, share your thoughts with me.. or send me a link to this kind of analysis...

thanks to all in advance...

Biomaterials faculty position at Lehigh University

I am chairing the search for a new faculty member in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at Lehigh. As you will see in the ad below, the position is in the Biomaterials area. I would like to encourage more applications from candidates with interests in biomechanics (so I will have good opportunities to collaborate), and would like to invite applicants from this forum. If you are not personally in a position to apply, please pass the announcement along to anyone you know who might be suitable. The closing date for applications is January 30, 2007.  See full description of the position.
