Open Ph.D. position in the area of microbial inactivation mechanics
Submitted by cuitino on Sat, 2009-10-10 00:00.The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Rutgers University has an open position for a highly-motivated individual in the area of solid and bio mechanics starting January 2010. The scope of the Ph.D. dissertation will be focused on advancing the understanding of the role of mechanical drivers on the mechanisms responsible for bacterial inactivation. This dissertation, supported by the USDA, will be guided by Prof. Alberto Cuitino in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team in microbiology and food science. The requirements for this position include: 1) a Master of Science (or equivalent degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or other related areas and 2) a demonstrated record of prior research (publications).
