A postdoctoral fellowship is available at Duke University's Computational Mechanics Laboratory, beginning in September of 2009 (with flexibility on timing). Funding for the fellowship concerns research in the simulation of large-scale fragmentation phenomena. The ideal candidate will have experience in some combination of the following areas:
- nonlinear finite element analysis
- dynamic fracture
- C++ or C
- MPI and high-performance computing
- statistics
The fellow will have the opportunity to work with researchers at Sandia National Laboratories and a large-scale, massively parallel production code. Prospective candidates should send a copy of their CV to Professor John Dolbow at jdolbow AT duke DOT edu, and should feel free to contact me with any questions.
