Dear Fellow Mechanicians:

If you know somebody (including yourself) are looking for faculty jobs, please encourage them to apply to Utah State University. We are filling two tenure-track positions in the broad sense of solid mechanics or thermal science. At least one position for solid mechanics. For details of the job descriptions, please refer to my previous post. You need to apply through the online system at jobs.usu.edu. We will start reviewing the applicants on January 7th, 2008.

Best regards,

Wenbin Yu

I want to find the postdoc position. My investigation on a plasticity theory, limiting state investigations, magnetoelastic, piezoelectric and ferromagnetic plates and shells vibrations frequences investigations by exact space treatment. I have investigate the elastic-plastic problems of conical and cylindrical pipes with different plasticity criterias. I have define the elastic and plastic regions of mentioned problems. I have investigate the limiting state problem of finite conical and cylindrical bodies. In my PhD disseratation I have investigate the junction strength problems for linear and nonlinear compound wedge shaped thin plates. Dependent from wedges angles I have defined the less stress and stress concentration regions. Less stress region - it's region where stresses going to the zero and concentration region when stresses going to the infinity. As nonlinear material I take the power law hardening materials. I have show that the Reissner hypothesis have privelegeous in the mentioned problems than the Kirkhoff hyphotesis. Also I have investigate the compound conical pipes junction strength problem. And I have define the optimum strength state of the mentioned joint.

My personel web page vailable in: http://www.mechins.sci.am/Staff_en.html

 Thanks in advance,

Sedrak Vardanyan
