Remarks
- This is a first graduate course on solid mechanics. Prerequisites include an undergraduate course on strength of materials, and working knowledge in linear algebra, multivariable calculus, and differential equations.
- Notes will be posted periodically. These notes are mainly written to clarify and focus my own thoughts, and are not self-contained. As such, the notes may present a distorted view of the subject and of the course.
- The notes will be in the form of word files. Feel free to down load and modify them to suit your own need. If you would like to give a reference to the source, please cite the URL of this page: http://imechanica.org/node/203.
- If you made a modified version of the notes, and post them in your blog, please leave a comment below, with a hyperlink pointing to your blog entry, so that other people may benefit from your work.
- The posts concerning this course will have at least three tags: ES 240, solid mechanics, Fall 2006. Thus, the URL for all posts of this course is http://imechanica.org/taxonomy/term/179,176,177
