You are welcome to do whatever to the homework

Rui:

Thank you very much for your kind remarks. As noted in the outline of the course, you can do whatever you want with any material I have posted. You can even remix and post your own version of the problems. If you see fit, simply make a hyperlink to the initial post.

As we have discussed before, I'll refrain from deleting any material. You can find homework any time in future by using the search box. For example, search the string "solid mechanics"+homework. Lesley Lam has reassured me the database of iMechanica is backed up daily, just like other databases in the DEAS.

I'm hoping that, when more people post their teaching materials in Word or some other reusable format, we can all save a lot of time, and perhaps are even inspired by one another to do better teaching.

I should emphasis again that none of the materials posted are in a state satisfactory to myself. They are work in progress. Next time I teach the same materials, I'll post a new version of them. Thus the tag Fall 2006 for the materials posted this fall.

your homework

Zhigang:

Your homework problems were my favorite in the class I took with you (Fracture Mechanics) at Princeton. I always learn something just by reading your problem description, then highly motivated to solve the problems. I wish I took more mechanics classes with you. Do you mind if I save a copy of your homeworks posted here? I am not planning to do all the problems, but do plan to read all and may use some in my own classes. Thanks.

RH
