PhD studentship @ University of Oxford
Submitted by v.tagarielli on Thu, 2009-09-10 19:45.A fully funded PhD research studentship is available at the University of Oxford, in the Solid Mechanics Group.
The associated research project is funded by EPRSC, DSTL and a number of industrial partners including BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce Marine. The aim of the project is to investigate the dynamic loading of composite components of submarines, including fluid-structure interaction phenomena and the non-linear mechanical response of fibre composite materials. The approach will integrate experimental observations, numerical simulations and theoretical analyses, and the research student will have access to excellent laboratory and computing resources.
