Thermodynamic model for strain-induced crystallization in rubber - Eccomas

Natural rubber (NR) is known to crystallize under strain (SIC) so that NR samples subjected to loading-unloading cycles exhibit hysteresis. A brief review of the numerous experiments conducted on this material is given. Detailed information on the microstructure is therefore available, particularly simultaneous measurements of stress versus elongation and
crystallinity versus elongation. Introducing an internal variable associated to crystallinity, a solution to the evolution of this variable can be found, that is thermodynamically consistent. This variable enable us to obtain good laws for both stress-strain and crystallinity-strain curves. This model is assessed by uniaxial tensil tests under cyclic loadings.

Micro-sphere Model

Hi all,

I am currently working on micro-sphere model like the one used by Miehe, Ihlemann and Pawleski. I wonder if someone know a FEM code who use this type of model.

Thanks a lot

Non-linear energy release rate (JI,JII,JIII)

Hi all,

I am currently working on mooney-rivlin materials. I wonder if someone have tried to compute GI, GII and GIII with the EDI because I don't understand how to compute WIII with mooney-rivlin.

Thanks a lot

crack-front coordinate system

Hi all,

I am currently working on Virtual crack closure technique. I met some problems with the local crack-front coordinate system. I wonder if i can find a detailed explanation on the coding of the local crack-front coordinate sytem.

Thanks a lot

Joachim Guilie
